1. Tigers are Olympic Swimmers!
Most house cats absolutely hate water and hate getting wet. But tigers are totally different! Tigers love the water and are amazing swimmers! In the hot summer days, they love to splash around in rivers and lakes to cool down. They can even swim for many kilometers to cross big rivers!
2. Their Stripes are Like Secret Fingerprints!
Just like the zebras we learned about, no two tigers have the exact same stripes! Every tiger has its own special pattern, just like human fingerprints. Even cooler, if a tiger shaves off all its fluffy fur, the stripe pattern is still clearly visible right on its skin!
3. A Hidden “Fake Eye” Trick!
If you look closely at the back of a tiger’s ears, you will see a big, bright white spot on each ear. These white spots look like a pair of giant “fake eyes” from behind! This trick confuses other animals so they think the tiger is looking at them even when it is sleeping. It also helps baby tiger cubs follow their mommy easily through the dark forest.
